There will no longer be public meetings for the Madison Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project, now that the topside of the bridge is complete.
On November 21, 2016 work on the Madison Street Bridge support structures took place and on January 10, 2017 work on the bridge deck began with reduction of traffic down to two lanes and the removal of the bridge decking. Despite the cold weather delays in early January, the project remains on schedule.
Headed by general contractor, Frontier West, the primary goal of the Madison Street Bridge Rehabilitation was to fix the bridge’s failing bridge deck. In addition to bridge deck repairs, the project featured structural, aesthetic and multi-modality improvements such new lighting and railings, bike lanes, as well as expanded protected sidewalks. Work also included repair of the bridge’s support structures. The anticipated completion date of the Madison Street Bridge Rehabilitation was August 2017, weather permitting.
Please obey all signage and remember that fines do double in work zones. Crews will be in operation Monday through Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
